STILLWATER PATTERNS

One thing you can almost certainly count on in any still water is the reproduction of various insects. Callibaetis, Chironomids, Damsels, Dragons and Wtaer Boatman are nearly always present in some great numbers. Having the necessary flies and techniques to catch fish on nymph patterns will greatly enhance you fishing experience. The other forage that can be counted on are various types of baitfish, leeches and crayfish so don't over look those as a viable food source either. Another extremely effective technique is to fish a dry-dropper combo to match up with the ongoing hatch and a few simple dries can get it done in any situation.
